Department Overview

The Accounting, Revenue and, Treasury Management Departments produce monthly financial statements, manage account receivables and account payables, and provide analysis/forecasting of financial data. Major activities include: maintaining financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles, monthly posting of operations performance, reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed asset reporting and capital spending tracking, managing the annual financial audit, completing external requests for information, and reporting structure and system maintenance.

Position Summary

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst provides support to the revenue management department as a knowledge expert on revenue cycle processes and technology solutions. The position participates in the identification, development and execution of revenue cycle processes and technology solutions. The position collaborates with other departments and external vendors to problem solve and escalate any issues within the revenue cycle functions. The Analyst assists with various process improvements and process reviews, implementing changes as recommended utilizing Children's LEAN methodologies. The position is also responsible for setup, maintenance, and upgrades of Children's revenue cycle.

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education:
*Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or Business Administration required

Experience:
*5-8+ years experience working in revenue management within a healthcare system, insurance industry or government organization

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

*Past system support experience, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing to include monitoring of data imports, provision of basic system maintenance, documentation of workflows and coordination with vendor for maintenance and escalation

*Diagnose and resolve or escalate complex software problems in the areas of system configuration/setup, product functionality and bugs/enhancements.

*Document issues and organizational requests to product development teams and external vendors.

*Troubleshoot interface issues related to Registration/Scheduling (HL7) and Charge Messages.
*Serves as primary resource for printing, scanning and credit card support.

*Assist in optimizing, auditing, and setup of work queues for charge capture reconciliation, denial management, claims management and remittance posting.

Ability to develop training documentation and provide training to end users
*Ability to research patient accounts within the system and recreate outcomes
*Ability to project manage system roll outs, design and test enhancements, prioritize requests and escalate issues
*Strong time management skills, managing multiple priorities and a heavy workload in a high-stress atmosphere
*Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to be self-directed
*Flexibility to perform other tasks as needed in an active work environment with changing work needs
*High-level problem solving, analytical, and investigational skills
*Ability to learn quickly and meet continuous timelines
*Excellent customer service through oral and written communication
*Knowledge of third party payer contract terms and reimbursement methodologies (DRG, APR DRG, APC, EAPC, fee schedules, modifier reductions, etc.) including MN and WI Medicaid
*Knowledge of healthcare billing system functions (scheduling, registration, point of service collection, charge capture, coding, claim submission, payment follow up, self pay collection, agency placement)
*Knowledge of hospital and clinic billing rules, claim edits, use of modifiers, authorization and certification requirements, CCI edits and Medicare MUE edits
*Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards and PCI compliance regulations
*Knowledge of LEAN methodologies and process improvement techniques

*System knowledge of Cerner, GE Centricity Business and eClinical Works preferred
